Laboratory
The Millcreek Community Hospital Laboratory offers
comprehensive inpatient and outpatient laboratory services, encompassing both clinical and
anatomic pathology. The division of anatomic pathology is comprised of surgical pathology
(histology) and exfoliative cytology. The division of clinical pathology is comprised of blood
bank, chemistry, hematology, limited microbiology, coagulation, urinalysis, and immunology. In
each of these areas of the laboratory, fluids from several body sites (blood, urine, stool, and
cerebral spinal fluid, to name a few) are analyzed.
The laboratory is
available for Outpatients 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, as well as 7 a.m. to noon
Saturdays. All outpatients must register at the admissions desk prior to proceeding to the
laboratory.
